Weekend Barbeque

My parents in law invited us to have barbeque at their house yesterday Saturday. My husband's grandmother on his dad side was there too together with his uncle. We intend to be their early cause I told my husband to go bike riding around the hill and winery. So we went riding for an hour and 30 minutes together with my parents in law. We had fun! I enjoyed the day with them. I really appreciate the time they gave us when ever we go their visit them and spend the weekends with them. After bike riding we had barbeque for dinner. My mother in law is a good cook so we like the food she prepare every time. My husband and I had fun. Went home last night at 10 and we're all tired. Can't wait for my son to be here and enjoy the fun times too.

For Exchange Links

I was bothered by those bloggers that would add me right away and they didn't get my approval. It means that I didn't read or forgot your message on my blog. Now that I'm working I can't keep up my time in blogging. This is just my sitting time after eating dinner and on day off. But today that we're starting to have a nice weather here in Oregon, its our chance to go out every weekend and visit our family and have some dinner or go out for a movie or something. Who doesn't want to be linked up anyway? Of course I'm a typical blogger who wants to have page views everyday. We'll we're all bloggers here in general aiming to have an extra apart from working. But some are doing really for income purposes which is good especially if you are a stay home wifey with kids.

I don't like the idea of some fellow bloggers who messaged me here that says, "HEY I DON'T HAVE MY BLOGS HERE LINK UP BUT I GOT YOUR'S, LET ME JUST DELETE YOURS ON MY LIST". Do you think this is a good reaction? I'm not into something here but it pisses me off when people are driving me nuts cause of usual Filipino thing. Why not just do in a good way that you can't turn off someone? Well now that I can see the 2 sides of culture that I had, kinda frustrating it reminds me of FILIPINO STYLE.

For those that I didn't link up yet, you can send me several messages, I would really appreciate it - Thanks a bunch guys for taking time and for your patience as we all have our own time in the real world. Catch you all later.....Good night :)

I miss blog hopping

I'm having a hard time to catch up for opps and at the same time blog hopping on my co-bloggers blog. I miss it. Wish I can do it everyday just like before when I can't work yet. Now that I have I'm tired when I get home. I just prepare dinner and go to bed right away. Sometimes I even slept at the couch and my husband forgot to wake me up. Its hard when you're in a retail you keep walking for the entire 7 hours at work. Makes my legs hurt. Anyway I have 2 days off starting tonight I'll try to hop on my buddies blog.

Washington Mutual for your Savings

I prefer the service of Washington Mutual which I opened a new account couple of months ago. Its easy and hassle free. I just provide my EAD Id, state Id and its all set up. You can open a new account for just $1. And this is with Debit card and you can access your account online or internet banking. Last month just to compare I opened a checking account at US Bank, It pisses me off how strict they are and the minimum opening amount is $100 plus they ask my state ID, SSN, EAD, Passport, US Visa and a mail with my present addy on it. Its really a hassle going into that bank, I just opened their cause its cheaper when you send to Xoom to PI. The thing is if you're new you can spend your money right away need to wait 5 business days to fully withdraw an amount and that is good for 2 months. What a crap bank!!!! But in order for these rules to be ignored just set up a direct deposit which I did!!!!!! What the heck!!! After sending the money to my son for his birthday I would withdraw all my money there and just transfer to my Washington Mutual Account. I have checking account and savings account as well. I love their service its quick and its easier browsing for their online banking. I personally recommend WASHINGTON MUTUAL especially their savings accounts.

Flea Market in Portland

Last Saturday its my day off and its always my husband day off on weekend too so we decided to go out to Portland. First we went to 2 park and walk up and down the forest for an exercise. Usually its not a typical park this is located in the forests and people usually go around for jogging or walking exercise. It was fun I enjoy walking in the trail and listening to birds singing and while walking around the river and at the same time viewing the city on the top. After that .we went to downtown and saw a flea market. It was my first time to see one, its kinda "baratilyo" style in Philippines with loud music and food stalls all around. These are few pics that I took while roaming around. I enjoy it and I felt like I was in Panagbenga Festival in Baguio hehe.

Good Night in Blogging

I was so sad yesterday morning because I couldn't get any opps at all. I just have this blog registered for paid blogging though I have a travel blog registered too few days ago at PPP and I don't know why they won't give me opps. So I went out to the mall cause I was bored and tried to shop for some jeans. I just don't like their bigger sizes here, all jeans were like until size 4 in display and I am only size 1 or 2 at most. I ended up going home with bare hands. Shesshhhh...So I was at late afternoon and opened up my PPP and I was so stunned that I have lots of opps popping out on the screen for my Travel Adventure and Lifestyle. I didn't care though cause its just one new experience for me since I joined them. Lil did I know that Google gave me a PR2 for it yippeeeyyy! I just have known it today when I checked my profile at PPP. Maybe thats the reason why I got some opps and I didn't care to check it out. So for now I am picky with the opps offered by other sites (duh) I want to post something related to my blog and not just something out of category. Thanks to Google! Hope I'll have it more and will stay with me forever hehe.

Another Chinese Restaurant Last Night

After helping my husband from washing his truck and his work van yesterday, he told me to go all the way to Portland. I felt excited cause its been a long time we didn't go there cause of the shitty weather for the past several months and being busy also working around the house on weekends. We walk around the downtown area and there's a Prom going around its all obvious because youth are walking to the building with gown and formal wear plus limos dropping them by. When were tired walking we saw a Chinese restaurant and we didn't hesitate to go because its our fave place most of the time. Good thing we drop by here, the food was really good, this is where I tasted a really really good Pancit!!! I want a combination of shrimp, fried rice, pancit(noodle), orange chicken this time. Makes me wanna go back again, this time we didn't talk a lot as we usually do, we just keep on eating lol. This is the first time we didn't have a box walking to the door LOL. Anyway, after that we drove around the city for an hour and a half sight seeing and everything, with windows open, loud music, heater on all the way up, racing in the stop light lol.....was fun!

At McGraths Last Night

We had a dinner at McGraths last night. It's a seafood restaurant this time. Usually we go to a Chinese restaurant or Applebees or at Mongolian Grill. So far the food was really good and it comes with huge platter. We got a vegetable salad, sour dough, and the fried Halibut and Shrimp with french fries and for my husband he got a baked potato. We spent more than an hour eating while chatting there. This is our time for talking things over, talking anything lol. That is why we always walked out the door with a box after lol. This is what I like about my husband he find time for us together. I was busy lately cause of my training at work and even at night I never say no to my supervisor hehe. Bonding is always needed for a relationship, in some way the excitement is still there and good communication makes a relationship more stronger.

Penne with Spinach for Dinner

One of the pasta that I always have on my pantry is Penne. It's just always easy to make, its like an instant food for me. For our dinner, I just added, spinach and shrimp on it with salt and pepper of course. I usually use butter or olive oil for my pasta so it will turn out tasty..... Actually you can make lots of variations out of penne. My husband love pasta also so its really good for me cause I don't spend much time in the kitchen on weekdays, busy doing opps lol, though on weekends I usually bake and make a real food for him :)

CBT's Today

I just came from my CBT today and spent 4 hours, it was a breeze, I really learned a lot from it. The why's, how's, when are all here. It is a guide for us new employees to perform our task intended by the company , on how we deliver it on our own respective area of assignments. They are all accommodating especially the store manager who greeted me in the employees lounge. Everybody was smiling and greeting hi so it helps a lot be confident to be with the new environment. Other than that, the weather is shitty today, when I went out early this morning it was 38F and rainy and until now that I'm home making opps lol......

My Orientation Day

Today is my orientation day at work, kinda nervous though what it would be like. Anyway I am glad that they gave me a chance. I am still thinking and have to chose between three companies to work with. I have a second interview with the two already so I am waiting for their drug test schedule. For me it is better to try everything before deciding to where to be at. I wanna work 40 hours per week, sometimes companies would just offer part time, one thing is the schedule also if it fits me. Hope everything will be fine uhhhhhhh. Besides I don't drive yet so thats one thing I am considering, hopefully I can get my learners permit next week, kinda hesitant yet to get one cause I can't afford to finish to read the DMV hehe......anyways I know when its time just gonna go for it cause my husband is always pushing me to get one, maybe he's tired of taking me into places lol. I am glad that he's strict like most other guys do, he wants me to be free and be independent, that is what I want to because I am not use to be under of somebody I prefer to be fair...

I was touch though cause he has this initiative to do this. He made me wish and blow the candles after. After lightning them all the cake looks like this hehehe...

Buttercake for our dessert

I made this Butter cake for our dinner's dessert. It was my first time to bake a cake other than making cookies where I use to make every weekend. I was a little bit anxious if it would turn out dry but it didn't, I just followed well the ingredients and measurement. This is good to serve with your favorite ice cream!

Here are the ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 3 eggs
1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda 1 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cup white sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F(165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the sour cream, beat well.

3. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle most of it over the batter in the pan. Spread the rest of the batter in the pan and sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture over the top.

4. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before inverting into a wire rack to cool completetly.

Ever since I got here last October this is just the great day I've enjoyed it much in terms of the weather. It reached 77F today. We took advantage of the weather and made the sidings of our house. We're done and it really look great now. My husband wants to make all the necessary renovation of this house so he can sell and buy a new one. I really appreciate him he has lots of patient to do all this job. I helped him of course so it'll be done early and go out for a date hehe. I can't believe the weather today it was perfect!

Job hunting week

Hi everyone been busy for this week. Since I got my work permit I went out and search for a job. I applied like almost 10 companies though but I only chose who can hire me full time. Its rarely you can get an entry level job in here. I don't know if they believe your work experience from overseas? Thank God one company called me yesterday to go for an interview on Sunday at 2PM. Hope they'll hire me, I'm really excited to earn to save for my schooling and for my trip in Philippines this summer. I decided to go back to school and pursue my medical field that I didn't long time in college. I graduated a 4 year course though but I prefer this cause they pay higher than what my degree now. Actually I graduated BA in Political Science don't know what work can i get here of this course besides the entry level job I applied this week. Hopefully I can get any job anywhere lol.

Fourty Tips for a Powerful Life

I got this tip from one of my friends at my Friendster, she was actually one of my teacher way back in high school. I find it interesting and real, check out if you're doing some of it...

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.( Either I take a bicycle ride or take a walk everyday)

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.( I all have the time to meditate because husband is at work and I'm just a stay home wifey for the mean time)

3. Buy a DVR, tape your late night shows and get more sleep. ( I prefer to have a good sleep than by watching shows late at night)

4.
When you wake up in the morning, complete the following statement, "My purpose is to___________today."( always have plan what to do in the day that interest you)

5.
Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.( I believe that without doing 1, 2, and 4 you can't achieve this, for empathy you need to be more friendly)

6. Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to pray & meditate. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants & eat less food that is manufactured.

11. Drink green tea & plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day. (hmmm wait my husband and the rest is either on my yahoo list hehe)

13.
Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk & let new and flowing energy into your life.( this is so true that's why I need to make my house work done before anything else)

14.
Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school & you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear & fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile & laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. ( I just laugh when someone was hurt on what I said, most of the time they started the issue)

20.
Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.( I love to argue with my husband on lots of things because I wanna learn and know both sides, at the end it helps us both know more what we prefer from small things to serious topic)

22.
Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. ( be content in your life, its all that matters to be happy)

24.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?

26. Forgive everyone for everything.( hard to actually do but once you did, the happiness it brings is worth it)

27.
What other people think of you is none of your business.( I don't care)

28.
Time heals almost everything. Give time. (Most of the time just when people gets old that they forgive and forget)

29.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.( true, nothing is stable)

30. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

31. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

32.Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

33. The best is yet to come. (need not to stop to dream to make everything better)

34.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & show up. ( this is true with the stay home wifey like me, stay pretty, make sure its your priority )

35.
Do the right thing! ( it always comes back to you whatever you did may it be good or bad)

36.
Call your family often or email them. ( I always find time to talk to them back in Philippines)

37. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:

I am thankful for _______. Today, I accomplished __________. ( in other words PRAY)

38. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed. ( there's always a reason behind why things are happening to you)

39.
Enjoy the ride. Remember this is not Disney World & you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have a one way ride through life so make the most of it & enjoy the ride.

40. Please share this to everyone you care about. ( at the end you'll feel happy and content when in some way you help them a bit)
